Aluminum is the world's most abundant metal and is extremely versatile. It offers low density, high strength, durability, recyclability, resists corrosion and is economical. Master Bond formulates a wide range of adhesives for bonding aluminum to aluminum and aluminum to other substrates. These one and two part adhesives are used in the manufacturing of:
- Aerospace components
- Heat sinks
- Satellite components
- Cryostats
- Lasers
- Thermal spray coatings
- Bearings
- Actuators
- Heaters
- Temperature Sensors
- LED assemblies
- Gauges

Other Consideration for Bonding Aluminum Substrates
Although a high lap shear strength is a key requirement to provide a high strength to weight ratio when bonding aluminum, there are many other properties which may be critical. These include but are not limited to thermal conductivity for heat dissipation, good thermal cycling resistance and toughness. Toughened adhesives offer superior durability and resistance to thermal cycling. Most significant products include: Supreme 10HT, Supreme 11HT, Supreme 11AOHT and Supreme 42HT-2. No mix, Supreme 10HT epoxy adhesive cures upon exposure to elevated temperatures. Master Bond Supreme 11HT has a convenient one to one mix ratio. It is designed to cure at ambient temperatures. Thermally conductive, electrically insulative Supreme 11AOHT is noted for its exceptional heat dissipation properties. Solvent-free, Supreme 42HT-2 can be applied on vertical surfaces without sagging.
